Pepin’s Rouge is a gorgeous full-bodied Rhone-style blend. Blackberry and black cherry notes mingle with some earthy/woodsy notes, all with a pleasant freshness. The blend is mostly syrah, grenache, and carignan, but there’s a tiny percentage of the aromatic white varietal muscat d’alexandrie added, granting a subtle perfume and lovely lift to the mix. It works the same way as a touch of viognier added to syrah, as made famous in Cote-Rotie. We are thrilled to add a rich full-bodied red to our line-up of Pepin’s excellent and value-driven bottles!
