TN is for fans of approachable lighter-bodied softer-on-the-palate reds. We find this bottling of tempranillo happily defies expectations and really opens up the varietal to new appreciation. Rather than the typical aggressively high tannin and alcohol beast that we’ve come to expect from tempranillo, this is rather a transparent invitation to consider the lovely fruit, earth, and herbal inflections that other winemakers tend to overwhelm under all that oak and tannin. Its as if all the tasting notes of tempranillo are furniture that have been moved to a much more spacious home, where we can actually perceive and appreciate the nuances!
Practicing organic. Ull de llebre (aka tempranillo), with small amounts of merlot, and syrah. Native yeasts. Unfined and unfiltered. Zero added sulfites. Massis de Bonastre, Catalonia, Spain.
