Matassa Cuvée Marguerite 2024
This is a positively dreamy skin-contact bend from the south of France. Significantly more refined than your average orange wine, this shows big flavors but with finesse and a modicum of restraint. While dry and mineral-forward, the palate shows pineapple, barley honey, and gentle hints of apricot. A breathy fresh-air sensibility pervades the whole experience.
Certified organic. macabeu, muscat d'alexandrie, and muscat à petits grains. 50 year-old vines. Aged on the lees in old oak foudres. No sulfites added. Rousillion, France.
