Athenais Beru, of Chablis’ famed Chateau Beru, teamed up with Antoine Isenbrandt on Mare Nostrum Vini, a passion project devoted to wines of the Mediterranean experience, with each bottling named after one of the famed winds defining vine-life in the region. The tramuntana is a north-west wind steadily blowing through Languedoc, keeping the vines healthy and disease-free. With Athenais’ deft touch in the cellar, the old-vine carignan blossoms into a wine both polished and easy-to love in its fruit-forward charm.
