Mare Nostrum "Siroc" 2022

$40.00

Athenais Beru, of Chablis’ famed Chateau Beru, teamed up with Antoine Isenbrandt on Mare Nostrum Vini, a passion project devoted to wines of the Mediterranean experience, with each bottling named after one of the famed winds defining vine-life in the region. A blend of two sub-varietals of the Mediterranean’s ubiquitous muscat grapes, the wine is named Siroc, after the warm wind blowing northward from the Sahara through northern Africa and across the sea to the shores of Spain, Greece, Italy, and France. Ms Beru crafts these two ancient varietals into a fresh, bergamot-kissed, citrus and mineral-driven white-orange beauty. Perfect for Mainers who need to experience the taste of a warmer climate!

Practicing organic and biodynamic. 60% muscat blanc a petit grain and 40% muscat d’alexandria. 55 year-old vines. Muscat blanc a petit grain is pressed whole cluster and sees 9-days skin-contact. After blending, 24 months aging in old oak on the fine lees before bottling. Languedoc, France.
