Elisa Carta, of Liquor della Sirene, is an accomplished sommelier, professional olive oil taster, and passionate herbalist. By the shores of Lake Garda, in the Veneto, she crafts a series of amare based on old family recipes going back generations. The botanicals are almost exclusively from her own farm and unlike many makers of bitters and aperitifs, she uses no food colorings or chemical additives whatsoever. The "Amarulivo" bottling earns its name by having the distinction of infusing a good amount of olive leaves from her farm into the botanical mix. There’s a brightness, vegetal depth, and mild bitterness, all balanced enough to make this one equally suitable for before or after dinner, as well as endless possibilities in the hands of a creative mixologist. We’re looking forward to trying it in a negroni bianco!

Base wine: trebbiano di Lugano (aka verdicchio). Primary Botanicals: olive tree leaves, lemon verbena, iris, pine, absinthe, yarrow, oregano, laurel, rosemary, chiretta flower, mugwort. Sweetener: beet sugar. Non-Vintage. Veneto, Italy.
