La Montanuela Rocio 2021

$54.00

Camila Carrillo has been crafting beautiful Vermont wines with full commitment to biodynamic, organic, and regenerative agriculture since 2018. Having started out with the mentorship of La Garagista’s Deirdre Heekin and Caleb Barber, she releases her La Montanuela wine as a sub-label under La Garagista, and it has arguably become the prime jewel in the La Garagista crown!

“Rocio” is made from 12 year-old vines of marquette, a hybrid varietal descended from frontenac, that was bred to withstand cold New England weather. Carrillo believes in a purist approach, cultivating ecologically integrated vineyards and allowing the land to express itself through the fruit with the absolute minimum of intervention along the way. The result is a pure, crisp, and lifted array of berry and cherry fruit notes with a refreshing and energizing acidity. With a bit of air, rosy aromatics come into play, along with some subtle herbs, and a light foxy earthiness. Experience what some have called the most elegant wine made from a hybrid varietal!

Practicing organic, biodynamic, and regenerative farming. 100% Marquette. Zero sulfites added. Hinesburg, Champlain Valley, Vermont.
