Hofgut Falkenstein Niedermenniger Sonnenberg Riesling Kabinett Trocken AP9 "Munny" 2024
Laser-focused mineral-forward dry riesling with lime zest, mirabelle plum, peach, and a subtle peppery element. Profoundly elegant with razor-sharp acidity and crystalline minerality. The wine is showing very well now, but can also cellar for a decade or two… if you can resist the urge to open this bottle of Mosel sunshine!
Father and son team Erich and Johannes Weber meticulously craft their dry and racy rieslings on the flint, iron, and quartz-rich soils of the Konz Valley. They harvest and vinify each plot in separate thousand-liter oak foudres, stamping each bottle with the name they’ve given to each foudre, in this case “Munny”, named for the previous owner of the parcel of vines.
100% riesling. Niedermenniger Sonnenberg, Konz Valley, Saar, Mosel, Germany
