This Barolo, from prime vineyards in the Verduno village, shows an exceptional balance of lifted brighter fruit notes with deeper riper elements, spice notes, and fine tannins. Citrus peel, dried rose petal, and licorice aromas abound alongside strawberry, cherry, and blood orange notes. A nice crushed-stone minerality and a touch of nutmeg spice along the finish seal the deal.
Quite lovely now with an hour or two of decanting, but this bottle will enter its prime from roughly 2027, and evolve onward through around 2045.
