Francois et Julien Pinon Vouvray Sec 2022
The Pinon family has been farming vines and making wine in Vouvray since 1786. This bottling is their driest still wine and an exceptional showcase of the chenin blanc varietal. Bright fruit and racy acidity are in taut and energetic balance. Honeysuckle, crisp Anjou pear, and a wisp of ethereal lanolin meld harmoniously with fresh honeydew melon and slate minerality. A kiss of Meyer lemon graces the lingering, vibrating finish. This one is excellent as an aperitif, paired with raw oysters, or with a fresh farmers’ market crudité.
Ecocert-certified organic. 100% Chenin blanc. Vine age varies, averaging 30 years-old. Clay terroirs. Vouvray, Loire, France.
