Famille Quiot Domaine du Vieux Lazaret Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2023

$54.00

Classic white CdP from the iconic Quiot family’s Domaine du Vieux Lazaret. Already showing brilliant aromas of white flowers, peach and lemon, with a few years age it will develop apricot, honey and almond notes while retaining a firm minerality throughout. Even in its youth, its already showing layered orchard fruit, fennel, and herbes de provence notes, all culminating in a persistently long and detailed finish. Full-bodied and plump-textured, we find this one is excellent choice for chillier Maine nights. It will play nicelywith goat cheese, poulet roti, cod cheeks, or seared scallops. Showing well already and can be cellared through 2030 or longer.

Blend of bourboulenc, clairette, grenache blanc, and roussanne. 35-50 year-old vines. Only the roussanne is vinified and rested in oak barrel before blending with the rest of the varietals and resting 4 months on the fine lees. Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Rhone, France.
