Envinate "Benje" Tinto 2022
The 2022 Benje Tinto is a strikingly honest and terroir-driven red. Open aromatics of violet, ripe plum, and fresh porcini gently lead the way into bright and saturated berry fruit accented with warm baking spice. The long and contemplative finish is all volcanic terroir, a showcase of finely-integrated wood ash, chiseled minerality and a touch of leathery tannin. This stunner can add easy depth and elegance to pair with anything grilled or smoked. Its also just light-footed enough to play nicely with conservas, grilled sardines, or some brothy mussels. Its showing beautifully in 2025 and will hold nicely for the next five years or more.
Practicing organic. 100% listan prieto (aka mission or pais). 70-100 year-old vines. Ycoden-Daute-Isora, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.
