Domaine Le Prieuré des Papes Chateauneuf du Papes Vielles Vignes 2019
Powerful and full-bodied old-vine CdP showcasing concentrated red fruits and an array of spice notes, from garrigue to baking spice, dark chocolate, and silken tannins. Remarkably light on its feet despite its weighty 15.5% abv. Showing very well now and now and will cellar well for the next 5 to 10 years. We recommend decanting an hour or so before serving. Excellent pairing for roasted, braised, or stewed red meats, or rich mushroom, tomato, or eggplant dishes.
Domaine Le Prieuré des Papes was previously known as Domaine Milliere. The 2019 vintage is the first to be bottled under the new name. We also offer the 2016 vintage of Domaine La Milliere Chateauneuf du Papa Vielles Vignes.
Practicing organic. 80-100 year-old vines. 60% grenache, 10% syrah, 10% mourvedre, 10% cinsault and 10% counoise. 1 year aging in concrete tanks and foudres. Cabrieres lieu-dit, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Rhone Valley, France.
