Domaine du Gros Noré Bandol Rosé 2024
In the universe of rosé wine, no location can compete with Provence’s sea-side haven known as Bandol. Even within Bandol very few makers can compete with Gros Noré. This is one of those wines that shows richness and depth without compromising its easy drinkability, offering contemplative complexity and quenching freshness in equal measure. Classic watermelon and strawberry notes are present in a distinctly denser expression, accented with citrus and spice notes, all supported by a saline mineral backbone. Like any good Provence rosé, this is a great social wine, but the depth and intensity here make it an excellent table wine as well. It will nicely compliment many varieties of seafood but also can stand alongside the tomato-and-garlic based world of Provençal cuisine. Bouillabaisse would be a perfect match!
Certified organic. 30 year-old average vines. 54% mourvèdre, 25% cinsault, 19% renache, 2% clairette Bandol, Provence, France.
