Domaine de La Boheme "Mol" 2021

$27.00

The 2021 Mol is a gorgeously light fruit-driven red meant for warm-weather enjoyment, to be served at a refreshingly cool temperature. We are great lovers of that area of the wine spectrum where light red becomes dark rosé and vice-versa, and Mol is one of the best examples of the style we’ve encountered. Bright berry fruit is the name of the game here, with a livening bit of acidity balancing the slick and suave texture, all accented with charming hints of violet, lavender, and wild mint. The total package is fluid and friendly, with integrity and depth for the wine-geeks, while remaining unpretentious and easy-breezy.

Patrick Bouju of Domaine de La Boheme is one of those winemakers with a personal stake in making wines without chemical intervention. Initially under the impression that he just had a distaste for wine, it turned out he had a real intolerance of sulfur, ultimately a liberating discovery that inspired him to settle in Auvergne and make purist wines, eschewing every form of chemical addition and mechanization, even working with horses in lieu of tractors.

Organic. Blend of syrah, grenache, cinsault, gamay, and other varietals. Unfiltered and unfined. Zero added sulfites.
