Domaine Chamonard Morgon 2015
Domaine Chamonard is known for crafting exceptional cuvées from plots in Morgon and Fleurie, respecting the needs of each vintage, and holding off its release until they feel the wine is in its prime drinking window. Thus we were able to secure this gem of a library release, a plush, polished, and refined expression of gamay only possible when lovingly cellared until the passing years coax out its best expression. The primary impression is of round and velvety time-softened tannin supporting a harmonious plum and cherry fruit profile. Here and there just enough mineral and spice give it a sense of detail and punctuation. The super smooth medium-bodied profile keeps one reaching for the next deeply satisfying sip. This is a singular experience for lovers of all things gamay and Beaujolais, but will also appeal to lovers of plush and viscous Burgundy pinot noir, so fans of Chandon de Brialles or Dureil-Janthial should take notice!
Certified organic. 100% gamay. Morgon, Beaujolais, France.
