While renowned for their exceptional Pinot Noir bottles, the folks at Cristom clearly have a talent for chardonnay as well. Pale golden yellow in color, the wine shows bright fresh apple and lemon zest aromas along with an ethereal whiff of salty minerality. The palate is built around finely melded apple, Meyer lemon, and pineapple notes with a sneaky hint of caramel and a firm slate minerality at the finish. The overall effect is a charming freshness with just a hint of a broader richness from the use of 10% new French oak.
Practicing organic. 100% chardonnay. 13 months aging on the fine lees in French oak, 10% of which is new. Willamette Valley, Oregon.
