Chateau Béru’s “Montserre” bottling is from the highest elevation in the appallation of Chablis, with vines growing atop a thin layer of limestone pebbles coating giant densely packed limestone platelets. This is Chablis in its most classic form: exacting oyster-shell minerality, racy acidity, citrus zest, and orchard fruit harmoniously joined in a nervy and energetic profile.
The Beru family has made wine at this site for 400 years and running, but the generation of Comte Éric de Béru, his wife, Laurence, and their daughter Athénaïs have made significant changes to the estate, re-planting vineyards in 1987, and adopting organic practices since 2004.
