Borgo Scopeto "Borgonero" 2018
We love this nicely-aged “Super-Tuscan” blend. We’re not shocked that it reminds us of many of the best Chiantis we’ve had, given that its produced by a leading maker of Chianti Classico. The Borgonero delivers a classic balance of dry fruit, some baking spice and savory herb, supported by tannins smoothed out from 7 years aging, all at an exceptional value. With its well-crafted proportions this bottle is very versatile at the dinner table and will compliment a whole range of dishes from red sauce pasta to grilled salmon.
Practicing biodynamic. 40% sangiovese, 20% merlot, 20% syrah, 20% cabernet sauvignon. 1 year in old French oak. Cagliano and Vittoria, Tuscany, Italy.
